LARS LUNDGREN (ALIAS PASCAL THE YOUNGER)

Major Lars Lundgren (1932–2003) was born and raised on the island of Gotland. However, at the time of his service in Cyprus, he was living in Luleå.

Lars served as a legal advisor in the personnel department of Battalion 85C (1984–1985), under the command of the battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Per Källström.

Lars is pictured second from the right in the photograph above, taken from Minnesbok 85C: Vinter 1984–85 (Commemorative Book 85C: Winter 1984–85), edited by Staffan Dopping and published by the Swedish UN Battalion in Cyprus, 85C, in 1985.

In the commemorative book, Lars, writing under the pseudonym Pascal the Younger, composed the humorous song “På Källströmmens tid” (“In Källström’s Time”), pictured below and dedicated to Battalion 85C.
